Miss Beehive 1963

Well, after a short hiatus, I'm back.  I finally have a computer that works with Vox. 

So ... alas, more knitting goodness coming in the future.

I just wanted to let all the readers of my blog here know that I won't be using VOX for awhile.  It's not my choice; my computer will not let me display ANYTHING on Vox.  So, for now, I'll be residing at Live Journal.

MR EKO!

Those of you who watch LOST know that anything can happen at any moment on that show.  Last night, my favorite character, Eko, was killed by the Black Smoke.  This was, in my opinion, very unexpected and out of place.  So, I found this short video on YouTube.

Clockwise from the top :  A cool pink fabric covered Halloween bucket with a furry top border!  A skein of my favorite yarn, Manos del Uruguay, in my favorite color - purple!  A sachet that smells like Rosemary and keeps moths away!  LOST magazine!!!  Four chocolate truffles that my pal's parents' made!  And a great Halloween card with a button!

Well, I was having a pretty shitty day ..... until I got the mail!!!  My package from Hot Socks arrived!

Sharon, who's blog can be found here, sent me some awesome stuff!

Hot Socks!

So, in the package were .... two skeins of Lorna's Laces in Purple Iris.  I LOVE this yarn.  She was right, I can imagine how hard it was to part with it!  She also included a pattern for socks and a bag.  There is a giant bath fizz ball that smells like Christmas Trees (and it has a prize inside!!), some Halloween chocolates (I love British chocolate the best!),  a tea light candle (it says Happy Day around the side), and two boxes of tea!!!  There is vanilla and earl grey.

What food or drink do you love when it's cold out?  (Recipes and recommendations, please!)

 When it's really cold out and I don't have to go to work, I love a good Hot Toddy!

Ingredients

Enough water to fill a decent size coffee mug almost to the top

1 Lemon Zinger (Celestial Seasons) tea bag

2 tsp honey

1 stick of cinnamon

1 or 2 shots of Southern Comfort

Directions

Boil water for tea.  Pour hot water over tea bag, in mug, and let steep for 3-5 mins.  Add Southern Comfort and honey.  Add cinnamon stick.  Enjoy!!!!
