I found this MEME on a random blog. Thought it might come in handy for my SP9 pal!
1. What is your all time favorite yarn to knit with?
That's a toss up .... I LOVE Blue Moon Fiber Arts. It is the most amazing sock yarn that I have ever worked with. I also LOVE Noro Cash Iroha. I just made a pair of fingerless gloves out of it and it is SOOOO soft!
2. Favorite needles to work with?
I love my Clover straights, but Crystal Palace makes some very sweet DPNs.
3. The worst thing you ever knit?
I was working on a Sophie bag, and the colors I picked out were Autumn colors. Well, I'm knitting this bag (with stripes) and it started to look like the team colors for the Washington Redskins. I had to put it down and make it go away .... it was awful!
4. Your favorite knitting pattern?
By far, it's Sophie, from MagKnits! I love this bag. It's so simple and a great stash buster!
5. Most valuable knitting technique?
Casting on. I mean, you couldn't knit without it!
6. Favorite knitting book and/or magizine?
I love Interweave Knits mag. It's by far my favorite! My favorite knitting book right now, is Last Minute Knitted Gifts.
7. Favorite Knit-a-long?
I haven't joined one yet! Like many things, I work best on my own.
8. Favorite knit blogs?
I'm a huge fan of the knitting community on Live Journal. You can post a question and have it answered by at least 5 people by the next day!
9. Favorite knit-wear designer?
Stefanie, who runs Glampyer Knits.
10. Knitted item that you wear the most?
I know it's going to be fingerless gloves, once I make myself a pair!
Show us your favorite animal.
Inspired by the Emporer.
That's my kitty, Arwin. She's more then just a pet .... she's a good friend and companion.
I just finished my first pair of fingerless gloves!!!!
I'm so very proud of them! I made them for a swap, and I hope my swap partner like them!
I used Noro Cash Iroha, in Burgundy. I didn't even use the whole skein. This yarn is so incredibly soft!!!!
I followed the fingerless glove pattern from Last Minute Knitted Gifts, but it doesn't look anything like the picture. That's okay - I'm very happy with the result!
And that white fur in the back round of picture 2 is my cat, Xander. He was helping!
So, after seeing that the video place was out of Mirror Mask, I opted for this movie entitled "Everything Is Illuminated." You know, when you're looking at DVDs to rent, sometimes the box captures you. Well, this is what I saw at first glance.
So, I'm thinking .. WOW - what a cover! So I turn it over and read the movie summary. It's about this guy (played by Elijah Wood), in his 20s, who collects odd things from family members. After the passing of his grandmother, he goes to the Ukraine to find the woman who rescued his grandfather from the hands of the Nazis. It's a quirky dark comedy, and yes, I did laugh my ass off at moments. It will make you cry though, as the seriousness of the Holocaust and what happened to so many Jewish people is touched upon at the main point in the movie.
Still, I have to recommend this to everyone! It was a great movie, one that I would watch again and again! And the soundtrack .... amazing! It has Yiddish music, a great song from Gogol Bordello, and some Eastern European folk music. And for those interested, this movie is based on the book of the same name!
Today is my last big day of freedom before I return to work. So, I'm relaxing. I'm going to knit. Then I'm going to knit some more .... while watching LOST season 2 on DVD. Then I'm hanging out with Karen for a bit, then I'm eating sushi with John. I think I might rent a movie to watch tonight with John. I've had my eye on The Science of Sleep for a while now. It's only in theaters right now. So then, maybe Mirror Mask.
But first, I'm off to the yarn store. I have a pair of fingerless gloves to knit in a week, for a swap. It's not that I put them off, it's that I can't seem to figure of thumb gussets to save my life. I follow the pattern, I watched on line videos, I confirmed with knitters to make sure I was doing it right. I just can't get it. So, I'm going to get some Noro and a new pattern at Frog Eye.
And I finally downloaded this soundtrack, and I can't get enough of it!!!! This is also one of my all time favorite movies!
Which of your five senses (touch, taste, sight, hearing, or smell) do you value the most?
Submitted by Elisheva.
I value hearing the most. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't listen to music anymore?!?! People have asked me, "Would you rather be blind or deaf?", and I answer them, blind, every time! I don't think I could live without music.
No, not a wedding on LOST .... although that would be pretty cool.
Tomorrow night, the season premiere of LOST in on!!!!! I have been waiting soooo long for this, that I'm quivering with anticipation! I did go on Lost-Media.com and checked out what fans had to say about the Hawaii premiere. They showed the new eppy a week early there, and from the spoilers I read ... WOW! We finally get a real peak at how The Others live!
And the, this weekend, I am performing the wedding ceremony for Tina & Steve. This is the link to their wedding website! I just got the ceremony on paper; what I'm supposed to say that is. It's a lot of things to say, and I'm nervous and honored all at the same time. So, I will be printing it all out and putting it on cards, so that I don't mess it all up! LOL Mom finished the dress I'm wearing, with an awesome caplet. The dress is a little plain, but I like it. After all, we can't outshine the bride, can we???
Things at work at slightly better. I have a week off - that's good. I'm putting in the paperwork to reduce my hours from 80 / 2 weeks to 72 / 2 weeks. I'll still be full time and get the benefits, and with my living at home for awhile, I can afford to do this. I have to do this ... my sanity is at stake!
Only 14 days until SP9 starts up! I'm so excited .... can't wait to make a new friend and spoil someone silly!
1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
My absolute favorite yarns are Manos del Uruguay and Cherry Tree Hill. I also love classic 100% wool, such as Cascade 220.

3. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?
I've only been knitting since January of this year, but already I've done socks, lace, and felted bags. But I don't know all the techniques I'd like to know (such as intrasia), so I'm gonna go with intermediate. I learned how to knit when I was living in NY state. I had a great teacher, Tina, who also spins. Check out her yarn store here! (Shameless plug, but I love her stuff and I'm so proud of her!)

8. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)

I love purple, black, and pink (like bright, bold, 1980s pink!) I can't stand pastels and yellow.

14. Do you like to receive handmade gifts?
Of course! I love hand-made gifts!
15. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?
It depends on the project. And, after using all three needle types, I only knit with Bamboo! But I do love my Addi-Turbos.

Yes, and yes.
17. How old is your oldest UFO?

Chopsticks, pictures of Geisha, and mostly anything having to do with Japan and kabuki theater.
20. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have?
I don't have any subscription, but I'd love to get one to Interweave Press. As far as books, Not Just Socks has caught my eye! I have quite a few books on my Amazon wish list.
21. Are there any new techniques you'd like to learn?
I want to knit a sock from toe up, as well as learn intrasia.
22. Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements?
I wear a size 7 1/2 shoe, and my measurement from heel to toe is 9 1/2 inches. Yes, I am a sock knitter.

I hope this provides some insight for my SP9 pal! And if my spoiler wants more dirt on me, they can read my Live Journal page HERE. I'm so excited about SP9 - I can hardly wait!!!!
