So, my SP8 group has a new hostess, Kerry. Katie had to jump out of her duties, but I know it's for good reasoning. Good luck to them both!!!!!
And in honor of the new hostess, I found some cool questions on her blog that I thought would be fun to answer.
1) What is your favorite season of the year?
I love the time of year when Summer turns into Autumn. It's just cool enough out in the evening that you need a light sweater, and not so humid in the day time.
2) Where is your favorite vacation spot?
The Western US. I have family in Nevada and I love to not only spend time with them, but out in the desert as well. And San Fransisco is only about 5 or so hours from them, so that is always a treat for me. It's my favorite city so far that I have visited. Sushi in San Fransisico ... heaven!!!
3) If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be?
Easy answer - Japan. I have always been fascinated with the culture of the geisha world. I would love to go to Kyoto, to old Japan, and visit some of the shrines and temples there. I'd also love to go to a tea house and see real geisha.
4) If you could pick any job, and be paid well, what would it be?
Running my own yarn store. I'd love to do it. Nothing to do but spin, knit, and have fun with my friends and customers. Either that, or a critic for food, music, or theater. Travel the world and get to do something I love and get paid well - that would be great.
5) If you were going on vacation for 1 week, and had to take ONLY one project with you, what would it be?
A pair of socks, most definetly. It would take me a solid week of work just to get them done! LOL
6) If you won a shopping spree to your favorite Yarn shop, what would you get?
I would load up on my favorite yarn - Manos Del Uruguay. I'd get it in solid and multi!!!!!!
OOOO --- today I saw THIS. I must get some when I start work and get paid.
Yesterday, I opened the mail box and there was a small package from my SP!!! Very sneaky with the return addy I might add.
She sent me a small flat fan with a Geisha on it (something to add to the collection!) and a small stone chopstick rest. When I opened the package, that stone chopstick rest was so hot I could have given a massage with it!
THANK YOU SP !!!!!!!
Tonight, I'm going to check out the knitting group here in my hometown, now that I've moved back. It's a smaller group, but it looks like fun. I just need to dig out ALL of my knitting stuff at some point today cause I want to start some Christmas knitting and everything is still in boxes. Well, except for the actual yarn.
GOOD NEWS!!! I got the job at Valley Health. I took a piss test yesterday (which I could bearly pee - very embarrasing!) and passed that. Tomorrow is paper work, PPD, and a physical. But in addition to a great working environment and full benefits .... I'll be making more then $12/hr. I'm not rich by any means, but it's nice to get paid what you deserve to make for the work ya do. Ah .... relief. Now, here's to concentraiting energy to John, as he looks for a new job. He's miserable at this one he's at now, and I hope someone calls him back soon!!!!
